Haha, yeah - I remember seeing that in one of the "Guitars Suck" videos (4, maybe?) a while back... blew most of the "shredders" out of the water. Definitely :o-worthy.

Thanks for digging that up... now I kinda feel like shit, haha. :|
Oh well, back to the woodshed, I guess...

He is a guy from the Spanish Delcamp forum. For those of you who don't know delcamp, it's a classical guitar site with tons of scores in their multilanguage forums: http://www.delcamp.net

I am not sure if there are videos here. I've only checked the Barrios - La Catedral post, but you'll find original recording by the greats: Barrios, Segovia, Presti & Lagoya, Bream, Pujol and Gerwig.

Ana Vidovic - Guitar Virtuoso {2006}

Image

Ana Vidovic is an extraordinary talent with formidable gifts taking her place amongst the elite musicians of the world today. Ms. Vidovic has given over one thousand public performances since first taking the stage in 1988. Her international performance career includes recitals in New York, London, Paris, Vienna, Salzburg, Rome, Budapest, Warsaw, Tel Aviv, Oslo, Copenhagen, Toronto, Baltimore, San Francisco, Houston, Austin, Dallas and St. Louis. Equally impressive is the fact that she has already recorded 6 CDs, the most recent for the Naxos label featuring works by F. Moreno Torroba, released in Spring, 2007. Additionally, "Guitar Virtuoso," Ana's performance of works by Bach, Torroba, Paganini and Walton, was released on DVD by the Mel Bay label in 2006.

Ms. Vidovic continues to broaden her repertoire and maintains an ongoing performance schedule in the United States and abroad.

Ms. Vidovic has won an impressive number of prizes and international competitions including first prizes in the Albert Augustine International Competition in Bath, England, the Fernando Sor competition in Rome, Italy and the Francisco Tarrega competition in Benicasim, Spain. Other top prizes include the Eurovision Competition for Young Artists, Mauro Giuliani competition in Italy, Printemps de la Guitare in Belgium and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York. In Croatia the guitarist has performed with the Zagreb Soloists and the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and with Symphony Orchestra of the Croatian Radio and Television, as well as having been featured in three television documentaries by the eminent Croatian film director Petar Krelja.

Ana Vidovic comes from the small town of Karlovac near Zagreb, Croatia, and started playing guitar at the age of 5, and by 7 had given her first public performance. At the age of 11 she was performing internationally, and at 13 became the youngest student to attend the prestigious National Musical Academy in Zagreb where she studied with Professor Istvan Romer. Ana's reputation in Europe led to an invitation to study with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory where she graduated in 2003.

Her performance includes her favorite pieces by Bach, Torroba, Ponce, Paganini and Walton.

Andres Segovia - The Song Of The Guitar {1976}

Image

"Andres Segovia In Portrait" comes in two parts: Part 1 "Andres Segovia At Los Olivos" & Part 2 "The Song Of The Guitar"If anyone is interested I can supply the 1st part.
“The Song Of The Guitar” was made in 1976 when he was 84. Segovia gives us just brief sketches of his life and career while he devotes the rest of the time to playing his guitar beside the lovely reflecting pool of the Alhambra Palace. Recorded over several evenings after the departure of the Alhambra’s hordes of tourists, this 48 minute documentary features more full length
performances than previously, including works by Albeniz, Scarlatti, Torroba, Ponce and Rameau. He also plays his own transcription of another piece from Bach, the gavotte from the 6th Cello Suite. He may be 84 here, but his playing is still superlative. He would go on playing and performing onstage until just barely a month before his death at the age of 94.

Ana Vidovic is in a video on Youtube playing Cavatina, which kind of inspired me to learn it. Because of that, I will check this stuff out.
