"Glorifying X" was a project I started last August/September. I just started off with a few songs, wasn't sure where I was going with it, but then it snowballed into a number of tunes. Pretty soon I found myself coming up with a basic premise for the "game" I was composing for to help with the process. Which is basically a side scroller split into stages. Think Mega Man X.

Half a year later in January of 2007, I decided to revive the project and started work for part II. I came up with a few new tunes I enjoyed and a number of duds, so I decided to leave it for a while. I came back to it during the month of May and starting coming up with tunes like crazy. I'm taking a little break again, trying to think of a new sound I can use for III.

Anyways, there's my introduction to it. There's also a few other projects there, so take a look if you're interested. Thanks

By the way, the songs go in chronological order from bottom to top.

Ah Goddamn Italian computers and their inability to function SoundClick. I'm stoked to hear this when I get back, though, congratulations.

New tune is up entitled "H!GL - 1". It's more happy-go-lucky. I'm going to see what else I can do in this direction. It probably still needs a bit more polishing, but let me know what you think.

Really? I wasn't expecting that, haha. I find that it's "just ok". Did you get a chance to check out the other songs?

Two new tunes are up. "Tribal Funk" is kind of self-explanatory of the style. It's a simple theme that gradually builds up. "Rockstar" is a cheesy pop rock song. I love it.
Check them out and let me know what you think. Both probably still need some polishing and fine-tuning, but I'm really digging them right now.

No, I'm absolutely serious. I think the Pan Woods is beautiful. I've listened to it about 7 times now. The only possible downside for it is that if it were in an actual game I don't think the loop of it is quite as fluid as it could be, but that's just me trying to find a fault.

I hate rating your stuff sometimes because it really just sounds like I'm kissing your ass. I genuinely try and find faults so I can be constructive. The Tribal Funk tune is really great, too. Perfect title for the mood of the song. The song loops perfectly. Love the bongos.

Your right about the cheese factor in Rockstar. Some of the initial leads are quite catchy and sort of remind me of the ending of a game when the credits are rolling. It's really quite good, but not as enjoyable as the other 2 were for me.

Ah, I'll see what it sounds like looping from the drums introduction. Thanks.

Well, I thank you for your continued support either way. I really appreciate it.

Three new tunes are up:
Stage 5: Breezy Grass - A light hearted tune. Still need to work on the last bit before it loops..
Stage 6: River Racing - I kind of picture this one set in a river running through a forest and you're going downhill on a log. Pretty frantic tune to match the situation.
Stage 7: Snowy Caps - Another light hearted tune, but with some spunk. This is my personal favourite so far.

Have a listen. All comments welcome.

Two new tunes are up:
Stage 4: Aphotic Forest - Electronica-based. A bit more on the "serious" side. I imagine a quiet, dark forest set in the autumn with leaves falling; golden and black in color.
Stage 8: Through the Meadow - Very simple. Very fluffy. I wasn't sure what I thought about it at first, but it has grown on me.

Feedback appreciated.

I <3 Aphotic Forest. Really nice chillout/DnB stuff, I could also see it working in an RPG of some kind.

Thank ye. :-D Check out "Stage 2 - Tribal Funk" or the two "Jazz Ditty's" if you're interested in more DnB influenced tunes.

Two new tunes are up:
Stage 9: Clockwork - Kind of melodic and jazzy in tone. I think the second half with the drum break would sound better if I were to write a new theme there and it was played the second time around. I don't have the time to do that right now, so consider it a work in progress for now. :-P
Stage 10: Ice Cavern - A pretty desolate theme set to the scenery of a dark ice cavern. Not sure what to think about this one. It's probably my least favourite so far...

Sorry for the skips. I wish I could record these without it skipping at least once. Anyone know a better way?

Two new tunes are up:
Stage 11: Autumn Leaves - Kind of melodic and jazzy. The second theme comes in with the hook.
Stage 12: Desperation~The Final Assault - Can you feel the emotion in this one? Suited for a final stage. I have a love/hate relationship with this tune, probably because I've played it back a million times making small adjustments. Let me know what you think about it.

Only a few themes left from this project...

I was sort of able to listen to the 2 newest, then all of sudden the songs wouldn't load for me. I liked what I heard, and I thought I'd ask if there's some way I could get something like a zip file with mp3's so I can listen to these not on soundclick. I find the site a pain in the butt sometimes and I wouldn't mind giving these a listen while having them on my mp3 player. Let me know.

Sure thing. I was planning on doing that anyways. I'm in the process of re-recording all the songs. I'll have that up by tomorrow.

In the meantime...
Three new tunes are up:
Cut Scene~Dialog - In the Clouds~So Serene - Quite possibly one of my favourite melody/chord progression I've ever written.
Cut Scene~Dialog - Apathy Bound - This one starts off a bit despaired and then branches off into a haunting allure.
Cut Scene~Dialog - Sadness - Self-explanatory. I tried to have a bit of fun (lawl) with the instrumentation to help liven (lawl) up the sound. Not my strong suit, but gets the job done, I guess.
