Seriously fred you damn machine, that is awesome. I always wanted to record the other side of dawn, but I'm too lazy to set up all the stuff.

Hey, Fred. If you want to do Terrace, I couldn't be happier. Seriously. If you feel like switching up some of the instruments used to make it more optimal for a better sounding recording, go crazy. Most of the patches used were intended for a nice sounding midi, not necessarily what instruments I intended. Do whatever sounds right to you and I'll be incredibly happy. Thanks so much for the thought.

At least there's nothing particularly difficult about the song. It's relatively straight forward in its complexity.

I've pretty much finished it but the piano's playing silly buggers with me... Had to play the nylon string part on steel-strings because I couldn't cleanly reach the 17th fret otherwise, but that aside it's pretty much the same as the MIDI. Except without a fretless bass, too, haha.

If I can sort this damnable piano out then it should be up in about 10 minutes or so. I'm in a major recording mood, haha.

EDIT: Screw it, I give up. It'll have to be MIDI piano for the time being. Two ticks.

Terrace is up on the Soundclick - http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... dID=833979 - and an MP3 is here: http://www.fredbaty.homechoice.co.uk/terrace.mp3

I just had to use MIDI piano in the end, which sucks. I had it sounding nicer before but then my VSTi exploded... I'm thinking I might try an all acoustic version of it tomorrow - some of those chords are fairly damn hard to play on piano, haha.

Fred, I'm about 1/2way through drums for MCR. I'm pretty much up for doing bass and DFH on anything you care to attempt. Let me know.

Yeah, sorry, the piano part was definitely written on guitar (like everything else I do), so I can see why it's next to impossible to play on the real thing on some parts. Sounds pretty solid. I'm still very impressed that a guy across the ocean felt compelled to learn something I wrote. It means alot.

Just redid it on acoustic this morning and it sounds so much better already! New link: www.fredbaty.homechoice.co.uk/terraceacoustic.mp3

And that's awesome news, Alex. Should you fancy doing bass (and possibly drums!) for either of JamieFreakyStyley's pieces that would be unspeakably sweet.

That does sound infinitely better. :) Honestly, I bet most of the clean electric guitar parts would probably sounds better as an acoustic, as well. And maybe the solo could have a little bit of gain (something seems slightly).

Is any form of drums possible in that song? I wouldn't know what to do, but you've really spiced up the other songs with them.

"Megaton" sounds sick. Great stuff.

Edit: Just realized most of the electric stuff is too high on the neck to play on an acoustic...

It's in the original post, but also here: http://www.fredbaty.homechoice.co.uk/megatonhammer.mp3

Or here: http://www.soundclick.com/uca_classics

Why do you hate it, Jamie? It's fairly generic and all, but it's pretty powerful. I love that section with the ascending bassline (Section I in the tab) so fucking much. It should be so predictable, but the constant rise gets me every single time.

EDIT: Forgot to reply to your post, Chris. I tried the electric parts on acoustic as well, but yeah - I got such bad cramp from trying to reach some of the positions that I gave up, haha. You could be right about the solo, I'll see what that sounds like. As for drums, I don't know. I thought about it but thought I'd probably just ruin the song if I tried to add them. I can do metal drums no problem, but subtlety isn't exactly my middle drumming name.

If Alex wants to attempt some for Terrace I'd be thrilled, I just don't know if it'd work. Same for Soft Lights - I think some songs just work better without them. Could be wrong, though.

So much better than the recording I made a few years ago when I sucked at guitar and especially sucked at recording.

Great job on the Megaton recording, Fred. It really made me appreciate the heavy parts a lot more. I was not a huge fan of that song besides the intro and other clean parts, but the recording actually made me see it differently. Superb job.

EDIT: Just listened to Terrace, too...well done as well. What a great song.

I'll start on Flowers in the Attic, because it's made entirely of awesome.

:D. Goo'shit. I've got the guitars pretty much done for that already but was thinking of redoing quite a lot of them anyway so will do them over your drums instead.

Just finished The End by Army Of Poes - www.fredbaty.homechoice.co.uk/theend.mp3 or www.soundclick.com/uca_classics

I die for a couple days and come back to see two of my favorite UCA songs recorded plus one I can't quite remember at the moment but if it is indeed the one I'm thinking of it is damn awesome as well holy crap I'm talking like Roast Beef Kazenzakis all without punctuation dogg

I haven't listened to 'em all yet Fred, but I can't imagine them being anything short of sheer awesomeness incarnate.
